WDDMost matches release nothing at all.
Only a win releases budget, and the less expected the win the more it releases. Draws and losses release zero — 129 of these 204 matches did. Averaged out:
of the match budget, released per match on average.
A match budget is 10% of the treasury when that match settles. A share of budget, not a return, and no guarantee of future results. #16 across clubs with six complete seasons in these four leagues, 2020/21–2025/26.
Season by season
| Season | Games | Wins | Buyback released |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2025/26 | 34 | 10 | 20.7% |
| 2024/25 | 34 | 10 | 19.0% |
| 2023/24 | 34 | 9 | 14.5% |
| 2022/23 | 34 | 18 | 31.2% |
| 2021/22 | 34 | 16 | 29.0% |
| 2020/21 | 34 | 12 | 22.1% |
Buyback released = (1 − the market's pre-match probability) on each win, averaged over every match; draws and losses release nothing and the budget stays in the treasury. Average closing odds, de-vigged. Domestic league matches only, no cups. The treasury never bought back against these historical matches.
